Lazy Eyes

EYE CARE

EIGHT IS TOO LATE!

A lazy eye is where a child has poor sight, commonly linked to poor undetected vision or a turn in the eye. Simply correcting the vision can prevent a lazy eye from developing.

We can prescribe patching treatment if spectacles have not corrected the lazy eye. The principle of this treatment is to force the weaker eye to develop by covering the better eye for a certain amount of time a day.

It is agreed by the optometric community that treatment for a lazy eye works best before the child is 8 years old. Therefore having your children's first eye test early as possible is very critical, followed by regular check ups when necessary.
